India head coach likely to be named on Friday
The cricket advisory committee appointed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the appointment of India’s new head coach, decided to “further go through the finer details and submit their report to the honorary secretary of the BCCI on the morning of June 24, 2016.” a release from the board said on Wednesday (June 22).
“We have interviewed around 10 candidates and each of them has made his presentation. We will submit our report to the BCCI secretary,” Sourav Ganguly, who is on the panel alongside Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman and Sanjay Jagdale, the former BCCI secretary, said on Tuesday.
It is likely now, that the candidate picked for the role will be named on Friday (June 24) in Dharamsala at the inaugural BCCI conclave.
Ravi Shastri, the former Indian team director, is one of the front runners along with Anil Kumble. The others candidates in contention Andy Moles, Lalchand Rajput, Tom Moody, Stuart Law and Pravin Amre.
