Intel, Samsung in top recruiters at IIT Bombay

Intel Technologies (29), Samsung R&D (28), Citi Corp (20), Goldman Sachs (15) and Qualcomm (13) are the top five recruiters in terms of number of offers made till Day 9 of final placements at IIT Bombay, according to a statement issued by the institute.

In terms of international offers, the largest recruiters were Japanese companies like Yahoo, NEC and Murata, followed by Microsoft.

The highest base packages among the US firms are $110,000 from Uber, $106,000 from Microsoft and $100,000 from Oracle.

Highest base package amongst the Japanese firms were from Works Application (Rs 60 lakh JPY/annum),Yahoo (Rs 37.52 lakh JPY/annum), Rakuten: 37.20 lakh JPY/annum and Toyo Engineering (Rs 35.16 lakh JPY/annum).

Highest base packages for domestic roles were from Blackstone (Rs 35 lakh), Schlumberger (Rs 28 lakh), WorldQuant (Rs 25.2 lakh), Xerox Research (Rs 22 lakh).

A number of companies hired across all sectors including research & development, consulting, finance and software roles.

Startups such as Uber, Paytm, Ola Cabs have hired students of IIT-B and a few other companies are likely to visit the campus in the next few days. Reputed educational institutions/ universities across India will be in campus for the interviews this week.
