Jack Taylor banned from bowling for suspect action
Jack Taylor, Gloucestershire all-rounder, on Thursday (June 2) was handed a ban on bowling for a suspect bowling action. Taylor underwent an independent test last week and the elbow extension was found to have exceeded the 15-degree limit. The ban is set to stay until he undergoes a re-test and gets his action cleared.
The off-spinner, who was earlier reported for a suspect action in 2013, has continued to play a vital role for Gloucestershire with the bat, including an unbeaten century on Wednesday (June 1) in his team’s win over Worcestershire in the County Championship.
Apart from taking 53 wickets, Taylor has also recorded four First-Class centuries to his name. He was even adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round efforts of scoring a 26-ball 35 and taking 3 for 43 in the Royal London Cup final against Surrey in 2015.
After being reported in 2013, he missed the rest of the season in order to undergo remedial work at the England and Wales Cricket Board’s national academy in Loughborough and then was cleared to bowl in February 2014.
