Kabaddi player shot dead

A 24-year-old national-level kabaddi player was shot dead by two men in Rithal village here on Tuesday. Sukhvinder Singh was returning home after practice around 7 p.m. when two men on a two-wheeler accosted him, and one of them opened fire on him at point-blank range.

The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera installed at a nearby house.

The footage shows Sukhvinder walking along a road talking on his mobile phone when two men on a two-wheeler approach him from the opposite direction and shoot him down. Sukhvinder received three bullets on his forehead and one on his chest. The assailants are seen checking to ensure that the shots were fatal before fleeing on the two-wheeler.
