Mumbai Indians replace injured Malinga with Jerome Taylor
Mumbai Indians have named West Indies fast bowler Jerome Taylor as areplacement for the injured Lasith Malinga. The Sri Lankan pacer, who has been Mumbai Indians’s premium fast bowler in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the years was ruled out of the tournament earlier due to a knee injury, which is expected to keep him out of action for the next three-four months.
“Taylor will be available for selection for MI subject to the completion of contractual paperwork formalities,” the BCCI said in a statement.
The 31-year-old West Indian was part of the victorious Twenty20 World Cup winning squad in India. He has previously represented Kings XI Punjab and the now defunct Pune Warriors in the IPL.
