Narendra Modi app dominates App Store searches, downloads on iPhones, iPads
As the debate on PM Narendra Modi’s decision to ban Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes continues, his official app has touched new heights on Apple’s App Store. The app tops the Trending charts on the App Store. Also, words related to PM Modi like, namo app, narendra modi app, narendra modi, pm modi, narinder modi, narender modi, narendra, pmo india, narendramodi and namo occupy all the 10 slots in ‘Trending search’ on the Apple’s app marketplace.
On Google Play store, the app ranks at No. 18 among the top downloaded free apps. The ‘top 10 Trending apps’ too are related to PM Modi or demonetisation on Google Play Store.
The Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday (November 22) asked people to directly convey their views to him about demonetization via his official app.
He asked public to participate in a survey which gas a number of questions related to scrapping of old Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes. “I want your first-hand view on the decision taken regarding currency notes. Take part in the survey on the NM App,” PM said in a tweet.
The Prime Minister posed ten questions in the survey including, ‘do you think that black money exists in India’; ‘overall, what do you think about the Government’s moves to tackle black money’; ‘what do you think of the Modi government’s move of banning old Rs 500 & Rs 1000 notes’; and ‘do you think demonetization will help in curbing black money, corruption & terrorism?’
The Prime Minister’s move to gauge the views of the people comes at a time when the opposition has escalated its attack on the issue of demonetization. The opposition parties today said that they will launch a country-wide protest ‘Aakrosh Diwas’ on November 28 against the BJP-led NDA government’s demonetization move.
