Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the Women’s upcoming tour of England

Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 15-member squad for the Women’s upcoming limited-overs tour of England, on Saturday (June 4).

Sana Mir, who stepped down from captaincy after Pakistan’s failed 2016 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 campaign, will be replaced by her deputy Bismah Maroof in the shortest format, though she will continue as a player. Javeria Wadood has been appointed as the vice-captain for the Twenty20 Internationals.

Mir will continue to lead the team in the 50-over format. With eight points from their 12 concluded games, Pakistan are ranked seventh in the ICC Women’s Championship table while England are sixth with 13 points. Only the top-four gain an automatic entry into next year’s 50-over World Cup, also to be held in England. The bottom-four enter qualifiers.

Pakistan are scheduled to play three One-Day Internationals followed by as many T20Is, starting June 20. The visitors will also play two 50-over practice games on June 15 and June 17 respectively.
