Shashank Manohar elected BCCI President
Shashank Manohar was elected unopposed as BCCI President in a Special General Meeting (SGM) held at Mumbai on Sunday. Manohar was the only candidate to have filed a nomination before the deadline on Saturday. The post was left vacant after the demise of Jagmohan Dalmiya.
It was the turn of the East Zone to nominate the president and Manohar emerged as a unanimous candidate. This will be his second term as BCCI President. His candidature was also welcomed by Sourav Ganguly, who is set to take over as the chief of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).
Manohar’s earlier stint was from 2008-09 to 2010-11.
