TDP Supports KVP’s special status to Andhra Pradesh Private Bill

The ruling TDP has announced its support to the private bill seeking special status to Andhra Pradesh in the Parliament in the ongoing session. The private bill was moved by Congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP KVP Ramachander Rao.

AP Irrigation Minister B Uma Maheshwara Rao said his party would support the bill as part of pressure tactics on the union government. However, the private bill will not give relief to the state.

Welcoming KVP’s initiative, Rao questioned the Congress for not granting special status to AP at the time of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

The AP Congress leaders who made hue and cry against the division of the state should remember that Congress meted out grave injustice to AP by not addressing many people’s issues. The minister said that the TDP would also fight on its own on special status in the Parliament.
