Three suspected Maoists killed in Chhattisgarh
Three suspected members of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist) were gunned down on Friday by security forces in Sukma district of south Chhattisgarh.
The encounter took place in Chintagufa area at 10 a.m., when a joint team of the Sukma District Reserve Gaurd and the Chhattisgarh Special Task Force were carrying out an anti-Maoist operation. The team recovered four weapons from the spot.
“Bodies of three Maoists have been recovered so far. There could be more casualties on the Maoists’ side,” a police official posted in Sukma said.
