Two BSF men killed, four critical in Kanker Maoist encounter
Two Border Security Force (BSF) jawans were killed and four others were critically wounded in an encounter with the Maoists in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh early morning on Saturday. The encounter took place in Becha forests of Kanker district.
A special operation was launched from Chotibetia BSF camp at 11.45 pm on Friday by the parties of 170, 122 and 165 battalions of the BSF. The BSF parties had an exchange of fire with the Maoists at around 2.25 am today near Becha village. Six BSF men were injured in the encounter. They were evacuated to Raipur by a chopper. Out six injured jawans, two have got martyred and others are being treated at Ramkrishna Care hospital in Raipur, said a statement circulated by the police.
The deceased BSF men have been identified as Vijay Kumar and Rakesh. BSF constable Manoj Singh, Sipten Thomson , Jagdish Kumar and Bappa Devnath were critically injured in the exchange of fire.
