Two Wipro employees killed in accident near Hosur

The weekend tour of two young IT professionals took a tragic turn when they met with a fatal accident at Udhanapalli near here at forenoon on Saturday. Eleven others were injured when the SUV in which they were travelling turned turtle.

The victims were employees of Wipro in Bengaluru. The victims were part of a 12-member group which was driving down from Bengaluru to Hogenakkal. The SUV had crossed Udhanapalli, when the driver lost control and the SUV skidded off the road. The SUV flipped over thrice, hurling all 13 passengers out of the vehicle. Among them, two young women, Sharon (22), daughter of Joseph from Kannur; and Sambhavi (23), daughter Medha Kantha of Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, died on the spot.

Among the 11 injured was the driver Vipin Madhi, along with passengers Raju (24), Liya (23), Sanjay (23), from Palakkad; Ashwin (24) of Wayanad; Anand(23) and Ananth Narayanana (24) of Trichur; Jobin Joy (23), Anand (23), Tom Thomas of Kottayam and Ammu (23) of Chennai.  The passengers were found grievously injured and lying in a pool of blood. They were rushed to Government hospital in Hosur and later referred to St.Johns in Bengaluru. The condition of the three girls is said to be critical. Police said the SUV was speeding and the driver had lost control while navigating a curve.
