Zimbabwe enter tri-series final after prevailing in rain-hit clash
In a ‘Now or Never’ clash, hosts Zimbabwe and West Indies locked horns in a bid to qualify to face Sri Lanka in Sunday’s (November 27) big final.
With the two teams having produced oodles of drama in their tied contest on November 19, it was only right to expect this match to be a hard fought contest and both teams didn’t disappoint one bit.
Momentum kept swinging from one end to other, with Zimbabwe eventually winning by five runs and qualifying to their first tournament final since 2010, courtesy the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.
Brief Scores: Zimbabwe 218/8 in 49 overs (Sikandar Raza 76*, Tendau Chisoro 42*; Ashley Nurse 3-27) beat West Indies 124/5 in 27.3 overs (Jonathan Carter 43*; Sean Williams 2-18) by five runs by D/L/S method.
